Wesnoth 1.14 Add-ons List

To install add-ons using the in-game client, choose “Add-ons” from the main menu, and click “Connect” to connect to the add-ons server. Pick the add-on you want to install from the list and click “OK” — the download will commence immediately and the add-on will be automatically installed once finished. Bear in mind that not all add-ons are singleplayer campaigns!

If you really need or would prefer to download add-ons from this web page instead of using the built-in client, use a compatible program to uncompress the full contents of the tar.bz2 file — including the subfolder named after the add-on — to the data/add-ons/ folder in your game’s user data folder. The add-on will be recognized next time you launch Wesnoth or press F5 on the main menu.

Tip: Hover over the type field to see an explanation of the add-on type and over an icon to see a description for the add-on.

Pick your recruits. No preparation turn
For wesnoth 1.13.10 and later. For older wesnoths versions please download the version from the 1.12 addon server. All players pick their recruits immediately after the game begins so no preperation turn is needed. This makes it compatible with scenarios and campaigns that use turn based events

The largest era ever made featuring Default Era with the Khalifate faction, Extended Era, Archaic Era, the Era of the Future, BEEM, the Era of Four Moons, the Yokai faction, the Deep Elves, the Vilkai, the Dark Legion, the Desert Elves, the Steelhive faction, the Era of Myths, Feudal Era, Imperial Era, the Era of Strife, the Era of Magic, the Era of Chaos, Rashy Era and Mercenaries Era.

All of these eras were made by other authors. I am simply compiling them. All credit goes to them and I highly suggest you download their era if you like it.

XP Modification
This addon provides rightclick menu that allows you to spend unit experience for upgrades. Costs can be changed during game creation, and by default are:
* 6 xp for 4 health
* 10 xp for 1 movement (for the next turn and all subsequent)
* 16 xp for 1 additional damage (for each weapon)
* 56 xp for 1 additional strikes (for each weapon)
 
You may locally change slider ranges without any out of sync problems.
 
XP Modification is continuation of XP Era from wesnoth 1.10, based on work by Dovolente, itota and Nosmos.

The central factions of this era consist of Northern Orcs, Despair, Khthon, and Ukians, as well as the default Undead and default Loyalists.  The extended version includes Primeval, South-Seas, Menagerie, and Phantom factions, which are less balanced, and shall always be.  Partially animated.  Somewhat balanced, at least for the central factions.  Needed for BMR & Trinity campaigns, for which these factions play the dominant role.

Bad Moon Rising
An expedition to gather treasure from the cold north sets off compounding disaster.  SP Campaign with some RPG elements in Parts 2 and 3.  (+20 scenarios - Requires 'Archaic Era' and 'Archaic Resources' add-ons) - Has some issues when run at 800 X 600 resolution.  The state of some translations is questionable.  NOTE:  This campaign is broken by at least one bug in BfW 1.13.8, but it should work if you download the add-on Lua Fixes)

Heroes
'Heroes' is a series of single-scenario campaigns. Currently it features the scenario 'The Iron Bulwark'.

'Heroes' features 28 unique heroes, each with their own AMLA set and abilities. Most of the 25 heroes origin from the campaigns Oath of Allegiance, Carved in Stone, Nightfall or Ashen Hearts. This will later be used as a ressource pack for those campaigns.

Gold per Village (easy handicap)
Set individual 'Gold per Village' for each side. Give handicap to friends-beginners (so that the game would be more challenging), or AI.

Example:
Player1   gold: [100] income: [0]
Player2   gold: [100] income: [+1]  <-------
Player4   gold: [75] income: [0]
Player3   gold: [50] income: [0]

With this add-on, _each village_ of Player2 will provide 1 additional gold per turn. (Compare this to constant +1 as per default rules.)

Because the income bonus depends on owned villages, it scales with map size (making it suitable even for large maps).

Note: this add-on has no effect if you don't set any handicaps.

Era of Magic
The Era of Magic (EoMa) is considered one of the best UMC add-ons ever created for the Battle for Wesnoth. Being in development since 2007, it contains 8 playable factions with fully animated units (244 total) and tons of special effects (including stunning 24fps animations). The aim of the EoMa is to make the most visually appealing and nice to play UMC era. By playing this add-on you'll see the most outstanding special effects and attack animations ever created for the BfW game as well as lead many unique units with amazing abilities straight into battle!
Since 2.0 the Era of Magic has come with the Zombies Challenge multiplayer survival scenario.

This era is required to play To Lands Unknown campaign (TLU).

SXCollection
Collection of SurvivalXtreme maps. In SurvivalXtreme you don't recruit, but can enhance your leader during the game. You get gold, extra moves and an extra attack for every enemy you kill. Up to five players can play cooperatively against the AI.

Many of these maps are balanced for play with characters from the SXC Default Low-Level Era. Some maps require all players to have Ageless Era installed, as the AI will use units from that era even if the players' units are from the default era.

This pack also contains some abandoned scenarios in the 'unbalanced' directory, the aim of this is to collect the maps which could be turned back in to playable scenarios. To enable these maps, you need to edit the add-on.

Better Odds
This mod removes the 'OMG lucker' aspect from the game. It does this by modifying hit chances based on previous hits/misses during a fight. 
    The mechanism is quite simple - 
    For each hit a unit scores, the chance to hit is reduced by 20/15/10% times the defending unit's terrain defence multiplier (flat for 50%, more for low defence, less for high) for units with 2/3/4 strikes respectively and by 10% for units with more than 4 strikes.
    For each miss, the chance is increased by the same amounts.
    The chance never exceeds 80% and is never lower than 20%.
    Magical and marksman attacks are not affected by the mod.
    The mod was comissioned by Buddh. I, Choicerer, coded it and slightly modified the algorithm. Thanks to vasya for an idea to improve the algorithm.

Better Names
This mod does away with the boring fantasy names straight out of Tolkien and changes them to better sounding, more immersive names such as Mr Bonebreak (a troll name) or The Incinerator (an orc archer name).

A variety of names for all races. Rebel names are, for example, changed to better reflect their vegan/hipster/anarchist etc etc nature. Also changes names and descriptions for two troop types (a subtle change, however).
At present there are 461 names. WARNING! There are some mild sexual and psychoactive substance references in the mod and as such it is not Pegi 12 compatible.

Hear the story of Mehir, a young city guard from al-Kamija - an isolated city in the middle of the Great Desert, where people and jinns live together. Reveal Mehir's destiny, visit many exotic places during his journey, encounter strange nations and learn about their intentions.

This is the most visually sophisticated add-on ever created for the Battle for Wesnoth. It has the following features:
- multihex terrain visuals (images covering entire maps to simulate height for example)
- animated cutscenes (video clips)
- more than 200 unique animated units (all from the Era of Magic add-on)
- a completely different universe, not BfW related
- funny moments and turning points.

(22 scenarios, 4 of which are dialog-only - Requires 'Era of Magic' add-on)

NOTE: this version is for testing purposes and may not be fully compatible with 1.13~1.14.
If you encounter any bugs, please notify the campaign author, so the patch can be delivered.

Galuldur's First Journey

Earth Scenario
6 player map of Planet Earth with a team for each continent. It can be played with a variety of set-ups - FFA, 2v2v2, 3v3, it's designed to work and be quite balanced in all those cases. Shallow water terrain connects the continents, all units pay only 0.5 mp cost to enter a shallow water hex. This makes the map play quite quickly and emphasises land battles over sea battles more on a map which already has a great deal of water. Units can cross from the Eastern Hemisphere to the Western and vice versa by moving onto the appropriate edge hexes. City names and label colours will change dynamically depending on who controls them. Thanks to Freeciv, who I'd acquired the base map from and thanks to NoneSensei aka enclave and others for the feedback and suggestions.

A Magicians Tale
A campaign in which the protagonists are an unlikely group of magicians, of every race, with unusual abilities.

The magicians special skills of the wizards are all activated by opening the item menu (right click on the character's tile).

It is no possible to recruit supporters in the usual way, but they can be choiced, hired, evovek and/or encountered in many different way.

Because the entire campaign is set in winter is used a twelve turns day, with a small prevalence of night turns.

(Medium Difficult, 10 battle scenarios, 5 dialogue and others things scenarios.)

Reign of The Lords
The Reign of the Lords is an era where you play as 8 factions of ultimate lords reigning over a division of wesnoth - yet you are not satisfied. Fight as the greatest heroes, villains, and warriors of The Loyal Human army, The Orcish wartribe, The Dwarvish alliance, The Drake Stormfront, The Wizards of the Land, The Dark Legion, The Outcasts, and The High Elves. Fight in the most epic of battles where every unit has the power to determine the outcome. 
This Era is differen't from all others and in this legendary battle all your soldiers are mighty warriors above level 3. Differen't strategy will  be needed in these ultimate battles as you command a small elite group of high level soldiers. Are you up for the challenge of the Lords?

This Era includes a multiplayer modification option which when enabled allows all the base wesnoth units to advance to these new Lords. The Reign of The Lords Default Unit Advancement addon is also available and allows all campaign units to advance to these new Lords.

(VERSION 9.0.1) -  This new release features the 9th faction in the Reign of the Lords era: The Khalifate! Many new units have been added along with many prices changes for the lvl 2 units to balance the Reign of Heroes era!

If you have any suggestions or ideas please post any comments on the wesnoth forum about the Reign of The Lords era! The 5 Lords Default Unit Advancement Modification allows all mainline wesnoth units to advance to the lords in campaigns, however it is not required and may conflict with some user made campaigns.

Reign of the Lords Default Unit Advancements
The Reign of the Lords is an epic faction which gives you nearly two hundred new 3rd,4th, and 5th level units. Have you ever played a campaign and been overjoyed when your unit finally advanced only to realize it was at its maximum level? Nevermore... This allows the base wesnoth units to advance to 3rd,4th and 5th level Lords in all campaigns. This addon is dependent entirely on the Reign of the Lords addon which MUST be installed as well!

NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL THIS ADD-ON IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY, OR ARE PLAYING LEGEND OF THE INVINCIBLES. This add-on modifies the advancements of many mainline units, therefore it will most likely cause problems when installed with campaigns that have complex macros or campaigns that also modify the mainline advancements. This add-on works for all mainline campaigns, but beware problems may occur with other campaigns. If conflicts arise uninstall this 5 Lords Default Unit Advancement add-on. The Reign of the Lords era alone DOES NOT effect singleplayer at all.

Expendable Leaders
Allows players to promote another unit so it can recruit, the unit promoted this way is expendable as long there is more than one unit that can recruit.
To promote an unit it must be level 2 or greater, have full moves, be standing on a castle or keep hex and standing adjacent to another unit that can recruit of that side.
Upon promotion the unit cannot move or fight for that turn.

Guard Towers
If this mod is on, then you can build Guard Towers on Villages, to do so the village should belong to you and have no any unit on it, then through right-click context-menu can order an Guard Tower to be built there for 16 gold. The Guard Tower is a stationary level 1 mechanical unit with 45 hp, that is of neutral alignment and does not incur upkeep, has a vision radius of 3, can use 10 dmg-1 strike ballista and 4 dmg-3 strike archery attacks at range, has no melee attack and 0% resistance against any type of damage.

Building an Guard Tower on a village denies your opponent the capture of this village, for the drawback that yourself cannot use the village for healing either aslong the Guard Tower stands on it.

Healing Tent
If this mod is on, then your leader unit may deploy an Healing Tent, to do so the unit should have full moves and be standing on flat terrain(open desert, snow covered and cavernous flats also count), then through the right-click context-menu can order it to deploy the Healing Tent. When the leader deploys the tent its moves are depleted for that turn.

The Healing Tent functions like an portable village that provides the usual village healing benefits but no income. If an enemy unit enters the hex with the Healing Tent it gets instantly destroyed(this also applies to neutral tents without a side), the leader unit can pick up the deployed tent of its own side to carry it elsewhere. Note that whilst you can steal an ally's tent, your leader can carry and deploy only one tent at a time.

The Healing Tent cannot be pitched within 3 radius of any village, castle or keep tile, therefore its of limited use in most maps, except in those that are Randomly generated.

Raze and Rebuild
If this mod is on, then any unit(except leaders) can sack villages, to do so the unit should have full moves and be inside the village, then through right-click context-menu can order it to raze the village.
When an village is razed it yields random 3-7 gold for that unit's side and rubble appears at that hex, and the razing unit has it's moves depleted for that turn.

To rebuild a village leader unit must be standing on the rubble hex and have full movement points, then through right-click context-menu you can rebuild the village.
Rebuilding an village that was on flat costs 14 gold, cave, water, snow, desert terrain costs 13g, swamp costs 12g, mountain and hills costs 15 gold.

Shipbuilding Mod
Forewarning: There may still be an bug present that occasionally causes unit to be not get loaded into the Transport Ship. If that bug ever happens, simply unload the 'fake' unit then try again.

When this mod is on you can recruit two types of ships on shallow or deep water hexes adjacent to an Village that belongs to you. Then through right-click context-menu can order an War Galleon or Transport Galleon to be recruited on the water hex.

The Transport Galleon can ferry one non-mechanical land unit over the sea and is entirely defenseless. Note: Your leader(or any other canrecruit=yes for that matter) may not use the boat. To load an unit into the ship, both the ship and the unit to be loaded must have atleast one movepoint remaining and be adjacent to each other, then you can right-click on the transport and use Load into Boat. Should there be multiple adjacent friendly units present one will be picked at random.
Units that are already flying, floating or swimming cannot get loaded into an Transport Ship, to filter them out used type=id's, therefore filtering out swimmer and flyers only works for the Default era. Units cannot be unloaded into impassable, water(can into ford or swamp), lava, mountain or volcano terrain when disembarking out of an Transport Ship. Upon disembarking the exiting unit will have 0 moves remaining.

The War Galleon has an Ballista with 10 pierce damage 2 strikes attack and does not transport any units. Both ships have 20% resistance to cold, 10% resistance to pierce, take 20% increased damage from fire and 10% increased damage from impact.
The ships are level 1 mechanical units with 35 hp and 5 moves that cost 15g, have normal upkeep, 50% defense in water(40% in swamps, 30% in reefs), can only travel on wet terrain(those being water and swamps) and absolutely cannot go on land. Also they can self-repair at an rate of 4 hitpoints per turn when overseas.

Building an ship may help with opening up new opportunities in maps that have abundant water, such as Weldyn or Cynsaun.

Halfelven
[b]*The Half-Elven*[/b]

[i]Halfelven[/i] is a unique stand alone faction. Their ranks boast chaotic and liminal units, leaders, paramedics, weapon- and armour-bearers, tame scouting birds, war-chariots, and protective golems. Their homeland is at south-western shores of the Great Continent (Irdya).

Faction:
Lacking pugnacity, they defend towns and settlements and use terrain characteristics for tactical hit and run attacks at dawn or dusk. They have the introduced alignment [i]liminal[/i] which gives units -25% nerf at night and -25% at day, and +-0% at dusk or dawn.
However, they rely on careful use of villages, healers, leaders and coordinated strikes around ([i]liminal[/i]) dusk or dawn. Slow but mighty golems can breach lines or secure a retreat.
Units tend to be costlier than average but level up quicker due to their surpassing intelligence and sophistication.

History:
In prehistory, they split from the Elves to avoid Faerie magic and set themselves apart. Over time, their artists, engineers, smiths, and scientists became artful in arcane production methods. But as a race, they stood somewhat puritan and simple in the eyes of the Elves. Therefor the Halfelven are not enwrought by magic like Elves, Faeries, and Wose. As a consequence, they do not live as long and are less vulnerable to arcane attacks (-10%) - but not so much as humans are (-20%).

Region of Origin:
They originated from the shores in the far east and later settled near the [i]Deva Mountains[/i] of [i]Arajunna[/i]. They wandered westward from a fertile land between big river streams that became drought-stricken. From the savannas and steppes in the east they settled in the southern region beyond the [i]Black River[/i] at the [i]Sleepless Sea[/i]. Today, they mostly live as deep-read sea-merchants, researchers, teachers, artists, navigators, astronomers, writers, in towns, cities and ports, and throughout all of Wesnoth, too.

Arcane Arts:
The Halfelven traditionally fight with arcane-hardened light-bronze weaponry and armour, for iron is regarded as inferior. Among the Elves, they are renowned for their arcane metal arts and are considered the most able weapon smiths. In Wesnoth, today, they are best known for their [i]Golems[/i], robot-like loam guardians, animated by programming code on parchment placed inside their construction, to protect the communities.

This is a variant of the Dunefolk faction, the later was formerly know as 'Khalifate'.  It delivers opportunities for new tactics, is aligned with all default Dunefolk units, and has 2 new units: the bomber-engineer and the martial arts assassin (Sharifs = Dunefolk + 2 additional units).

*This faction can easily be intergated in custom scenarios, campaigns or multiplayer adventures. It has a very easy format.
*This user made content (UMC) is part of a southern style era called the Southerners. The default install of Wesnoth, while having northeners, undead, draken, ... and other factions, alliances, and soldiers of Wesnoth, lacks southern desert style factions, maps, etc., besides the Dunefolk: try it!

Southerners
*Southerners*

This is a unique (multiplayer) era consisting of alternative stand alone factions. Their home region is in southern parts of the Great Continent, beyond the Dusty Wastes, also known as the Ashland Desert, and in the maritime hillcountry beyond the Black River, respectively.
The Southerners specialize in using terrain features to coordinate attacks at (liminal) dawn or dusk.

Among the Halfelven are paramedics, weapon- and armour-bearers, tame scouting birds, war-chariots, and protective golems.
Among the Sharifs are the bomber-engineers, martial arts assassins, apothecaries, and cataphracts.

*This era can easily be intergated in custom scenarios, campaigns or multiplayer adventures. It has a very easy format.
